How Pre-Orders Work

Reserving a record ahead of release is simple, but here's exactly what happens at each stage so there are no surprises.

1. You pay when you order, not on release day

Pre-order pages show the expected release date. When you check out, your card is charged in full at that point — this secures your copy rather than putting down a deposit.

2. We order it in specifically for you

Pre-orders are how we know how many copies to bring in, so once you've ordered, that copy is set aside for you as soon as it arrives with us.

3. We get in touch the moment it's in

Release dates from labels and distributors do sometimes shift — occasionally earlier, more often a little later. We'll email you as soon as your record is physically in the shop, using the email address you paid with.

4. Collect in store, or we'll post it

Let us know when we email you whether you'd like to collect from 45-47 Rosemary St, Belfast, or have it posted out. Postage is arranged at that point.

Changed your mind?

You can cancel a pre-order any time before it ships for a full refund — just email hecticrecordsbelfast@gmail.com. Once a release genuinely turns out to be cancelled or indefinitely delayed by the label itself, we'll always offer a full refund as well. See our Terms of Service for the full picture on order and cancellation rights.
